We employ dedicated individuals from our community who share a common passion – a love for pets. Our team includes former clients, members from the Seniors Job Bank, and even the college-aged children of our clients. When hiring through online job listings, we conduct thorough background checks and reference verifications to ensure safety for all. Our exceptional team is the cornerstone of the high-quality, hands-on care we provide for your pets. They are committed pet care professionals who derive joy from working with animals and assisting pet owners. About Our Staff
Debra
Debra is approaching her 20th year with Dog Days this November — making her one of the longest-tenured pet care professionals in West Hartford. Whether she’s out on her regular routes or stepping in to handle client communications, Deb brings warmth, reliability and genuine care to everything she does.
A West Hartford resident, Deb shares her home with her family and several beloved pets of her own – which means she understands firsthand what it means to trust someone with the animals you love. An active member of her church and Sunday school teacher, you’ll also find her cheering on UConn football and Wolf Pack hockey when she’s not out walking dogs.
Chuck S.
Chuck has been part of the Dog Days team for over six years, building lasting relationships with the dogs and families on his regular routes. Having owned pets his entire life, he understands the trust involved in welcoming someone into your home — and takes that responsibility seriously.
A West Hartford resident, Chuck lives with his family and their dog Boo, which means he brings a pet owner’s perspective to every visit. When he’s not out walking dogs you’ll find him biking, traveling, or spending time with his family.
Jon
Jon joined the Dog Days team in 2023 — but his relationship with us goes back much further. A loyal Dog Days client since 2015, he knows firsthand what it means to trust someone with the pets you love. After retiring from his full-time career he decided to stay active doing something he genuinely enjoys, and we’re glad he did.
Outside of work Jon leads an energetic life — snowboarding in winter, sailing in summer, and fitting in plenty of reading and history along the way. He and his wife Carolyn live in Newington with their two cats Kimba and Graysun.
Ann
Ann has been part of the Dog Days family for nearly 12 years — a testament to the kind of dedicated, caring people we’re proud to have on our team. Specializing in cat and dog care, Ann brings a gentle, patient presence to every visit.
A true West Hartford community member, Ann also serves as a School Crossing Guard and volunteers at the Senior Center. When she’s not working she loves spending time with her family and her dog Cassie.
Scott
Scott joined Dog Days in 2024 and hit the ground running — quickly becoming a reliable presence on both regular weekly routes and pet sitting assignments. He brings the same focus and professionalism to dog care that he developed over 24 years in the broadcast industry.
A West Hartford resident, Scott lives with his husband Manny and their dog Polar — so he knows firsthand what it means to leave a pet in someone else’s hands. When he’s not out on his routes you’ll find him hiking, reading, or watching a good movie.
About the Owner
Bob Duncan
In May 2000 I rescued a standard dachshund named Iggy. Two years later I enrolled him with a small West Hartford pet care company called Dog Days. I became a client — and without knowing it, a future owner.
In 2004 my employer was acquired and the Connecticut office closed. On the same day, the owner of Dog Days called to say he was going out of business. I called him back and asked if he wanted to sell.
That was 21 years ago. I’ve been walking West Hartford dogs ever since.
Over the years I’ve collaborated with trainers, earned membership in Pet Sitters International and the International Association of Canine Professionals, and built a team I’m genuinely proud of. I’ve learned that great pet care starts with great people — owners who trust us with their keys and their homes deserve as much attention as the animals themselves. That’s why I hire people who are as good with humans as they are with dogs.
Having been a Dog Days client myself, I understand exactly what it means to hand someone your key and hope for the best. I don’t take that lightly. Neither does anyone on our team.
I live in West Hartford with my partner Chuck and our two dogs, Harry and Milo.
